That’s pretty much it. We’re not going to push you to buy a bunch of stuff from us (although, that is how we make money so if you’d like to buy some of our stuff, feel free).

We’re also not going to wow you with some secret wealth building tool. We’re not going to teach you how to get rich quick. We don’t have the best insider stock tips like Martha Stewart. We’re not going to give you some magic pills, formulas or software to get rid of your debt and make you rich.

In fact, if you’re looking for any of those things, you need to keep on movin’ and find a different website.

Getting out of debt is hard work. It takes discipline, sacrifice, and (here comes that word again) work. But it can be done. And once your debt is gone, you can start building wealth. That’s what this blog is all about. Getting out of debt, then building wealth by investing over time and paying cash for things.

Living In Financial Excellence

I started coaching people through the process of becoming debt free in 2007. At that point in our marriage we were debt free except the house and I had a passion for helping others feel the same sense of relief from getting that weight off their shoulders. I soon discovered that many people who contacted me were ready to make an improvement in their financial situation, but they didn’t necessarily need one-on-one financial coaching.

So I started this blog to provide free resources for that group of people. It started with a few articles about beating debt and building wealth. I soon added free resources like free financial calculators, links to other great sites, and free financial forms available for download.

I then took the free resources a step further by creating the Living In Financial Excellence podcast, where my wife and I talk about how we live without debt (and even without credit cards!) today. We have a blast doing the show and we’ve literally helped thousands of listeners through the weekly shows.

Our history:

Financial Excellence was founded as Matt Wegner Coaching in 2007 by Matt and Janelle Wegner to help give back to the world around them and teach the financial management and stewardship techniques that helped them become debt free and start building wealth. All of us at Financial Excellence are passionate about teaching and helping others help themselves. This passion has led us to grow rapidly and enabled us to reach out to more people in ways we never thought possible.

What we do:

We offer a full range of personal and group coaching and seminars for individuals and small business owners. Our coaching gives our clients a sense of control over their finances and businesses, often for the first time. Our goal is to instill hope and inspire accountability in all whose lives are touched by our products and services. Simply said, we teach how to live debt free and control your money so your money doesn’t control you.

What we don’t do:

We don’t believe in debt so we will never push you to take out a debt consolidation loan, use credit cards, get a home equity loan or purchase some $3,500 software program that uses a home equity line of credit to pay your bills. All of these “solutions” are quick fixes that don’t do anything to address your behaviors with money. It doesn’t matter what you know about money or what you say about money. It’s all about what you actually DO with your money.
