MY STORY

I live in Suamico, Wisconsin with my wife Lori, and my three kids Conner, Madison, and Colin.  We also share our house with our two spoiled dogs Haylee and Sophie.  Lori and I were both born and raised in Detroit Michigan, but we moved to Wisconsin in 1995 so we could live a smaller and more family friendly place.  I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Arts and Sciences, and just recently received my Associate’s degree in Accounting with honors from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.  I enjoy working outside in the garden, teaching Financial Peace classes, and watching the Packers and Brewers.  Our family is active with many activities at Suamico United Methodist Church as well.

I worked for an Amusement Park/Passenger boat excursion company in Detroit for 15 years, most recently as a licensed passenger boat Captain.  Sadly, after 100 years in business the boats and park closed in 1992.  I then worked selling cars and other temporary jobs until we decided to relocate to Wisconsin and start a family.  I then spent over twelve years working at American Medical Security in the Claims and Facility Management departments, and then at  Schneider National as the Mail/Print Department Manager.   This is when I decided to change my life and take control of my future.

After spending ALL my life in debt and spending every dime coming in, I found Dave Ramsey on the radio in 2005.  I shared his show and book the “Total Money Makeover” with Lori, and she was on board immediately. I found out that she was uncomfortable spending and borrowing, so we started working together and paid off the cars, credit cards, and an ill advised debt CONsolidation – it changed our lives.  We were so impressed with the results that we wanted to share them with our fellow church members and became Coordinators of Financial Peace University at Suamico United Methodist Church.   Our new found financial peace allowed me to quit my job at Schneider National, go back to school, and be a stay at home Dad to our kids.
