As a veteran of the US Army, I don't think our servicemen and women hear often enough how thankful we are for their sacrifices day in and day out. Please take a moment to share in this thread any words of thanks or encouragement for those who protect our freedoms.
Absolutely! Thank you to all the vets who have fought and served for our country. I am forever grateful.
My brother just got back from Afghanistan two weeks ago, so this hits home a little too closely. He talked about bombs going off as if it was no big deal. On a convoy, they had TWO bombs go off. Luckily, it just flipped a HUM-V over and no one was hurt. But he talked about people dieing daily. So sad, and we dont hear about it here in the states.
He also served in Iraq just a few years ago.
I'm glad he's back on American soil again. I could only hope that ALL of our soldiers would come back.

Thanks for sharing Meg. It's definitely an adjustment coming back from that environment to the peace of civilian life. It can be tough to watch but we need to support them and help them literally re-train themselves to a different lifestyle.
Just wanted to give a shout out to the special forces, CIA, Navy Seals, and servicemembers who worked tirelessly for the last ten years to track down Osama Bin Laden. It wasn't easy to do but they persevered and got it done. Thanks for all the sacrifices!
