Book Review: Scratch Beginnings by Adam Shepard

Scratch Beginnings is a book that’s simply all about the American Dream. Adam Shepard, the author, set out with the clothes on his back and $25 to see if he could make it from having nothing to living a successful life. Through hard work and determination, he succeeded. I love this book because it’s all about what you do with your situation. I think this is a must-read for anyone who is feeling down about their circumstances or is waiting for a magic pill solution to their situation.[amazon-product align="right" region="us"]0061714275[/amazon-product]

What Adam found is that life can be very tough on the streets, but where there is a will to succeed, there is a way. It’s harder to get ahead when you’re down and out because much more is stacked against you. But with grit and determination, you can do it. The language is a little rough in the book as Adam attempted to capture the true environment he lived in during his life on the streets. Once you get past the language, there is a wonderful story and great message inside the book.
