Small Business Creates Wealth. Government Doesn’t.

Government wealth creation

03 Apr Small Business Creates Wealth. Government Doesn’t.

Businessman Kevin O’Leary made some comments about the government’s┬árole in jobs & wealth creation in a recent interview. He wasn’t exactly supportive of the government. In the segment he discusses how small businesses are burdened by government regulation. O’Leary’s stance is that the government should reduce regulations so businesses can be free to grow, which then creates jobs and eventually wealth. Watch the video and see what you think. Who do you think creates jobs? Is it business or government? Who should be responsible for it?

Interesting piece. It seems like there are decent reasons to suppose that both the government and business creates jobs. I am skeptical of the efficiency of the government, but perhaps being less efficient isn’t the determining factor in the debate. Thanks for sharing this with us!

I personally would prefer the government would stop trying to “solve” everyone’s problems. It seems the more they try to get involved, the less effective the solutions become and the more expensive it is for the taxpayers.

I agree with your assessment of the government’s efficiency Leonard. I also agree that’s probably not the center of the argument. I think it’s more about who has the true ability to create jobs, and who truly has the inherent responsibility to create them.
