Adam Shepard, author of Scratch Beginnings, was the first guest on our Living in Financial Excellence Podcast. That was way back when my voice was still shaky and I had no clue what I was doing. Even so, it was a great interview. Scratch Beginnings was, and still is, one of my favorite books of all time, because it’s the real story of Adam’s experiment to start with $25 and turn it into living the American Dream.
Now Adam’s at it again. When I interviewed him for the podcast, he alluded to a new project that he was working on. He’s finished the project, and it’s a doozy. Adam took a full year off to travel the world. He visited 17 countries and spent about $19,000. Sounds like a lot, but it’s way less than he would have spent to live a year in the U.S. The best part? He saved up to pay for it instead of going deep into debt.
Adam is the epitome of someone living frugally and making smart financial decisions in order to enjoy life at a higher level. He wrote about his experiences in his new book, One Year Lived. I’ve had a chance to preview some of the book and it looks to be every bit as good as Scratch Beginnings.
But here’s the neat part. Adam is actually a really cool, down to earth guy. Because he enjoyed his time on our podcast, he’s agreed to do something awesome for the Financial Excellence Community. For a limited time Adam is letting us give away FREE copies of the One Year Lived e-book!
All you have to do is share this post somewhere on the web and tell us where in the comments below, and we’ll email you a link to download the book. But the free part will only last until Wednesday, April 24th, so you need to act fast!
The hard copy book is coming out on April 22nd. It’s priced well, but nothing beats the price of the FREE e-book! I highly recommend it.
